Ato Bunko is one many haiko ( 廃校 ) in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Haiko is a Japanese term for a closed school, due to the phenomenon of declining society in Japan. The amount of haiko in Japan is increasing significantly since 2009 and mostly have been reused as various facilities, especially those in the cities. Haiko in villages like Ato Bunko suffers from a more dangerous future yet provides more opportunities.
